Phaser Simulation - March 28, 2026
The Security Department will be hosting a Phaser Simulation (paintball). You can bring your own equipment or borrow some for a modest fee. New players are welcome, and we always see to it that everyone knows all the safety rules and are treated with respect. Teams will be divided up as equally as possible and we try to keep department members together. A reminder that participating in "phaser sim" goes towards the point system in rank advancement and certificates are awarded as skill levels increase.

Heimdal 42nd anniversary celebration
April 18, 2026
KARAOKE on the HOLODECK
The USS Heimdal will celebrate its 42nd anniversary on April 18 at Meredith’s Restaurant in Madison Heights.
The theme will be KARAOKE ON THE HOLODECK and costumes for the evening will be your favorite Holodeck character. It’s time to start thinking about your costume and what song you will be singing if you’re cool enough to stand up and sing.
There will be a Southern Buffet for dinner. One lucky attendee will take home a collectible 2025 Hallmark Star Trek™ tabletop ornament, “Beware the Borg!” Featuring voice narration from the Star Trek universe, including the iconic line, “Resistance is futile!” this piece is designed for display on a desk, shelf, or personal command console. It plugs in for uninterrupted power (no batteries required). A true standout among this year’s door prizes, this is one prize you would not want to resist.

region one summit

Region One Summit
Date: May 15 -17, 2026
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina

The USS Kitty Hawk will be hosting the Region One Summit at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Raleigh Durham Research Triangle in Raleigh, NC. The schedule includes a Friday evening meet-and-greet, informative panels throughout the day on Saturday, and a formal banquet dinner on Saturday night. The banquet will feature a buffet-style meal and a cash bar, with complimentary water, iced tea, and coffee provided.
As with previous Summits, volunteers will be needed for Honor Guard, Final Mission, and other important roles. If you have ever considered participating in one of these traditions, this is a wonderful opportunity to do so.
There will also be a Region One silent auction, with proceeds benefiting a designated cause. Members are encouraged to support the auction by bidding—and, if possible, by donating items.

Trish Cerulli, president of the Astronomy Club and an Ambassador from NASA, will provide a presentation about Artemis II.
Artemis II will send four astronauts around the Moon on an approximately 10-day mission—the farthest humans will travel from Earth in over 50 years. Launching aboard NASA's Space Launch System rocket inside the Orion spacecraft, this mission tests critical systems needed for future lunar exploration and Mars missions.
